Social networking sites are considered part of the new media technology. Since the introduction of these sites, user’s privacy and confidentiality have been constantly under great threat at an alarming rate. As users many of us give out our real personal information in order to use these sites. In turn some of the social networking sites share our personal information with other third party service providers. Some of these sites such as Facebook and MySpace have admitted that they share some user’s personal information with third party companies.
I agree with you that Facebook and MySpace share their users' information with third party companies but what can we do about it? If we want to continue using their services, we have to let them share information about us. Unless we choose to not use them.
ReplyDeleteIt is the true that the rises of new media technolgoies also increased the security issue online. While technologies advances, people are also finding different ways in obtaining people's private information causing the increase on the level of fraud.
